We’ve all been there, you want to add or drop a 1/2 tooth in gear ratio but you look at the gear ratio chart and a front driver change from a 10 to an 11 or vice versa is either the same ratio or maybe .2 different. It’s frustrating and there’s no real option until now!
These unique sized and shaped 219 sprockets now allow you to change a true 1/2 sprocket up or down with these .5 Tooth Sprockets! Fine tune your gear ratio!
How do you get a half tooth? Let’s take the 75.5 sprocket as an example. The 75.5 is slightly smaller than a 76 regular sprocket in diameter and slightly larger in diameter than a 75. Then the pitch on the sprocket teeth is slightly different in shape than a standard 219 sprocket.
The combination of sprocket overall diameter falling in between the 75 and 76, the sprocket roll out and the unique tooth shape are what makes the ratio .5 different. No magic, just clever engineering and math.
