The plastic coolant tank located under the hood of the FK8 Civic Type-R now has an upgrade. The OEM tanks have a reputation of failing, and Radium now offers a bolt-in CNC machined aluminum replacement. This kit is designed to directly replace the OEM tank without the need to make any permanent modifications to the vehicle. The FK8-specific mounting bracket attaches to existing OEM threaded holes and the Radium fittings interface with the factory coolant lines and the coolant tank functions in the same manner as the OEM system.

The Radium Engineering coolant expansion tank is CNC machined from aluminum and consists of two halves that are bolted together. The parts are anodized for long life and an attractive finish. The volume of the Radium coolant tank is equivalent to the stock tank, so there is no loss in coolant.

The internal design features two chambers that have cross-over passages at the top and bottom. The Radium Engineering coolant header tank also has an internal swirl feature, which is to help aid in deaerating the system. The 1.3 Bar OEM Honda pressure cap can be re-used, or a Radium Engineering pressure cap can be purchased.
